Once in a while i call real estate adds and arrange visits to see houses although i have no plans (read money) to buy one.
Playing the domestic archaeologist while imagining the story behind the walls, tracking an object to find some trace of the human that once inhabited that space is one of my favorite things to do in the world.
Last year I entered a stunning Edwardian house whose content was going to be actioned. I bought the catalogue at the entrance and I spent all morning playing the domestic archaeologist, as you say, looking at all the furniture and objects the family had accumulated over the years. It was fascinating!
That, I have to say, is a lovely pass-time, Sara! I would like to have a go at it too! The golden tones in these photographs are great - loving that bit of wallpaper!
